Leadership

At ReMix, we believe the greatest gift we can give the artistic community is a dancer who not only has a broad knowledge and strong technique, but who can apply those talents in a spirit of confidence, compassion, and a commitment to community service.

Dance can be a powerful tool for developing individual leadership skills. The process of learning dance teaches our students to set goals, to work effectively in teams, to creatively solve problems, and a host of other character building attributes.

We recognize that only a small percentage of our students will become professional dancers...while all of them will become professional people!  At ReMix, we are committed to helping them become the most successful people possible.

Leadership Team

Students who have completed an entry level program at ReMix are considered part of the "Leadership" team at the studio.

We charge our leadership team with responsibility to guard the positive culture that we've built at ReMix. Team members are given a "leadership" pin and are expected to demonstrate the leadership principles in their behavior on and off the floor and to be an example to newer students.

Those who most successfully demonstrate the principles in their individual practice are given opportunities to further develop their skill through assistant teaching and other leadership development experiences.

Monthly Leadership Focus

Each month we focus on a specific leadership principle and explore how applying that skill enhances our dance practice and our success in social, academic, professional, and family life.

...you ARE good enough...

When my daughter started at Remix at 7 years old she was a very anxious child so unsure of herself and abilities. At the end of year conferences,  Liza looked at her after some conversation and said, "I want you to know that you ARE good enough", and she wasn't talking about just dance.   Liza saw that she needed that reassurance in her young life and she gave it to her.  After a year of classes we chose to do private lessons to ease her our of her comfort zone and to help with the anxieties of life that she was dealing with. This has been the best decision that we could have made.  Our girl has really come into her own and her confidence beams when she steps out on that stage. We couldn't ask for anything more!
